Ignacio Vergara is a UX/UI designer based in Orlando, Florida, currently pursuing a master’s degree in Digital Media at the University of Central Florida. With a strong focus on user-centered design, he creates digital products that are intuitive, inclusive, and accessible to the public. His work is guided by passion for solving problems through design and improving people’s everyday experiences with technology.
Ignacio’s most notable professional experience took place in the banking industry, where he designed and optimized digital interfaces for systems ranging from internal software to customer-facing platforms. He participated in the redesign of Banco Pichincha’s (Ecuador) public website, which receives around two million visits per month. His main contributions to this project included creating a new information architecture for a site with more than 200 internal pages, redesigning interface components, and conducting multiple usability testing rounds to identify and correct design issues, ensuring a smoother user experience. He also worked actively in the development and maintenance of the bank’s design system, creating new components and guidelines for existing ones.
Currently, Ignacio works as an instructor of record at UCF, where he teaches two undergraduate courses: Fundamentals of Interactive Design and Creative Industries. With more than 70 students in each class, he has discovered a new passion for sharing knowledge, encouraging creativity, and mentoring aspiring designers. Ignacio holds a bachelor’s degree in Interactivity and Digital Media from Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador). His academic and professional journey shows a continuous pursuit of learning, innovation, and empathy through design.
